YPM (Youth Prevention Mentors) is a premier group of renowned clinicians and professional mentors who work together to bring bespoke mental health services to the doorstep of struggling adolescents, young adults, and their families.
Our young clients often struggle with issues like poor life skills, executive dysfunction, self-medication, defiance, depression, anxiety, lack of purpose, failure to launch, and other maladaptive behaviors and coping mechanisms. That is why our three-fold goal takes families on a journey of crisis mitigation, mentor-driven activation, and family systems recalibration.
YPM’s unique mentorship model was developed under the guidance of expert clinicians. Our Partner and in-house Psychiatrist is Dr. Rami Kaminski. Dr. Kaminski is a world-renowned psychiatrist with over 35 years of experience. He has been awarded the “Exemplary Psychiatrist Award” from the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill, “Physician of the Year” from Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, and the “Charles E. Colt Excellence in Service” award. Additionally, our Director of Family Programming is the renowned Dr. Louise Stanger. She is the recipient of numerous awards, including “Interventionist of the Year” from Harvard McLean Hospital an affiliate of Harvard University and DB Resources. Furthermore, YPM’s CEO, Maks Ezrin, has his Masters in Applied Positive Psychology from UPenn where he studied directly under the founder of Positive Psychology, Martin Seligman. And Jack Vaughan, YPM’s COO, is getting his Masters in Positive Psychology from Arizona State University.
While we encourage our families to utilize our clinical resources, it is not a requirement of our program. Oftentimes, our mentors work solely with their mentees. That said, our clinically informed model is woven into the fabric of the positive psychology methodology that our mentors utilize with their mentees on a daily basis.
YPM’s mentors are highly skilled and accredited professionals who use motivational interviewing, executive functioning skills, and the core tenets of positive psychology to effectuate enduring change and resilience in the young people they serve. With 100 mentors on their roster, YPM curates the best possible fit between their mentors and mentees from the get-go.
Since 2019, YPM has worked with families and institutions across four continents, spoken at conferences around the globe, and has been featured in press outlets like Ted Ed, Forbes, Bloomberg, Psychology Today, and more.
