We put the fun back in mental health support. We have 2 programs (1) a silly summer camp for teen girls (14-17) in Costa Rica and (2) a supported Gap year program for all gendered young adults (18-22) in New Zealand. We combine international adventure, cultural immersion, volunteering, an internship, group living in a house, life skills learning, and the most fun you could possibly imagine while you live in a house with a therapist who does in the moment coaching. This program is “fun for kids who have been through hard” and we provide in the moment therapeutic support so that a wild adventure is accessible to kids who need a bit more help, support, coaching, and love. We help students develop a sense of self, belonging, capability, and purpose. We tackle these 4 bucket experientially first and support them therapeutically. We remember that primarily kids and young adults need love, laughter, messy silly fun, nature, and friendship and we strive to have these elements be the foundation of the program so all of the rest comes naturally.
