David’s parenting journey changed in 2021 when both of his children experienced acute crises, leading to spectrum diagnoses and multiple residential placements. As his family navigated frequent travel and a relocation to support his son’s therapeutic schooling, David was also caring for aging parents and recovering from major surgery. Though unchosen, the journey strengthened his relationships with his children and led him to join OPLM as a peer parent, supporting families raising neurodivergent children.
