Chris Tompkins

Chris Tompkins is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, life coach, TEDx speaker, and author of the best-selling book, Raising LGBTQ Allies: A Parent’s Guide to Changing the Messages from the Playground. He helps LGBTQ people and family members heal inner scripts to live more confident, happy, and abundant lives. Prior to becoming a therapist, Chris taught social-emotional learning (SEL) throughout Southern California for six years at high schools, after school programs, the Los Angeles LGBT Center’s Homeless Youth Shelter, and Los Angeles Central Juvenile Hall. Chris gives workshops and presentations for colleges, conferences, and organizations across the U.S. on topics such as: anti-bullying, healing the effects of religious trauma, mental health; LGBTQ populations, “inner advocacy,” how to prevent anti-LGBTQ bias, and how to raise LGBTQ allies.
