I live in Basking Ridge, NJ.
I am a Bar Method instructor.
Before I had children, I taught first grade. Once two of my daughters got into competitive gymnastics, I helped with the homeschooling program at their gym and started training to be a Bar Method instructor.
My husband’s name is Matt and our children are Ellie, 25, Cammie, 23, Will, 22 and Reese, 19.
In 2020, both my oldest daughter and my son began to struggle with their mental health and substance use addiction. They needed help outside of our home and both went into residential treatment. I found a parent’s support program through my son’s therapeutic boarding school that became a lifeline for me. The journey of a parent whose kid struggles is lonely and it can feel isolating, shameful, and sad. Having peer parent support from other parents who “get it” is so helpful. That support group led to Casie and Liz founding OPLM. I wanted to help other parents whose kids were struggling so I trained to be a peer parent and currently help lead meditation and the women’s support group.
